Appy days ahead for La Manga Club

11 July 2017

Visitors and guests to Spain’s La Manga Club will be able to further enrich their stay with a new resort app offering easy access to the latest information, services and promotions on offer at the world-famous venue.

Free to download to iOS and Android users, the new software allows individuals, groups and families to not only plan their stay, but also acts as an invaluable reference guide when in resort.

Available in both English and Spanish, the app provides comprehensive details on La Manga Club’s extensive range of sports and leisure facilities including three award-winning golf courses, a 28-court tennis centre, a luxury spa, more than 20 bars and restaurants and a choice of four and five-star hotel and self-catering accommodation.

As well as featuring up-to-minute weather forecasts, guests can view the latest news and updates on the resort, reserve services, explore the activities’ schedule and receive resort promotions, while the app also includes a section allowing La Manga Club members the chance to take advantage of exclusive offers and discounts.

José Asenjo, La Manga Club’s CEO, said: “We want our guests to know that, wherever they are, La Manga Club is always with them, and that is now possible with our new app. It has so many exciting elements and will greatly enhance the experience for everyone visiting and staying at the resort.”

One of the app’s most innovative features is its golf section, which allows players to not only record their scores and view previous rounds, but also access detailed information on how to play each hole when out on the course, including yardages to the centre of every green using real time GPS tracking technology.

Eduardo Ruiz, director of golf at La Manga Club, added: “The new bespoke golf section makes it one of the best golf apps on the market, and is essential for any golfer that comes to play at the resort.”

The new app is the latest illustration of La Manga Club’s forward-thinking approach which has seen the resort set the benchmark for European sports and leisure destinations since its inception in 1972.

Set in an area three times the size of Monaco and just a 20-minute drive from Murcia airport, the resort’s other sports facilities include a newly-rebranded Golf Training Centre, eight full-size football pitches and a new European Cricket Centre of Excellence.

In addition, La Manga Club offers a wide selection of sports academies for boys and girls of all ages including golf, tennis, football, cricket, rugby and athletics, while its array of other outstanding sports and leisure amenities, bars and restaurants have helped establish it as a firm favourite with active travellers.

Widely regarded as Spain’s flagship resort, the sports and leisure complex – which is also the official overseas training base of the Lawn Tennis Association – has won numerous leading accolades in recent years including being voted ‘Best Golf Resort in Spain’ by UK readers of Today’s Golfer magazine for the sixth year in a row.

A popular destination for some of sports most famous names including Barcelona, Liverpool and Great Britain’s Davis Cup team, La Manga Club’s other facilities include a 2,000m² luxury spa and fitness complex, a five-star hotel and a choice of four-star serviced apartments and townhouses.
