The hotels team has been deeply engaged in sustainable activities for a cleaner and greener future. Some of the key initiatives include sympathetic irrigation reducing landscape water consumption by 50% through the creation of dry Wadi beds and planting native and suited vegetation matching the climate environment. They applied a Fundamental Refrigerant Management system, to ensure the use of non-ozone depleting refrigerants. Creating a Sand Dune Protection Programme has added further protection from flooding and erosion of the beach and directly aids the sustainable protection objectives of the Hawksbill Turtles habitat on Saadiyat Beach. A unique natural environment, this is one of the last remaining coastal dune systems in Abu Dhabi.
