Irish stars Rory McIlroy, Padraig Harrington, Paul McGinley and Shane Lowry to contest €500,000 charity match for official launch of Tom Fazio masterpiece, The Golf Course at Adare Manor

County Limerick’s 5* hotel and golf resort, Adare Manor, is preparing to welcome four of Ireland’s most celebrated golfers for an historic exhibition match to launch its wholly-reconstructed, Tom Fazio-designed championship golf course, set to become one of the most recognised layouts in world golf.

The Exhibition Match at Adare Manor, which will take place on Friday April 20, will see Rory McIlroy & Paul McGinley compete against Padraig Harrington & Shane Lowry in four-ball match play for a staggering €500,000 charity prize purse. The winning pair will receive €350,000 to donate to their charity of choice with the runners-up being granted the consolation of €150,000 for their selected beneficiary.

The match will signify the official opening of The Golf Course at Adare Manor following a comprehensive two-year reconstruction phase, during which Fazio and his world-leading team transformed the pre-existing course into a layout immediately capable of hosting golf’s most prestigious events.

Promised to rank among the very best courses globally and set amidst a mature, 842-acre Adare Manor estate close to the picturesque village of Adare, golfers can expect the new course to match the timeless grandeur of the Manor House, already recognised as one of Ireland’s leading five-star castle properties following its own opening in autumn 2017.

It’s extraordinary reconstruction story will be unveiled for the first time during proceedings on April 20, after which golfers will learn the true extent of the enhancements and be welcomed to sample Europe’s most exciting new golf course for themselves.
