Turismo Costa del Sol releases a new video in which golf player Noemí Jiménez states that for her, Finca Cortesín means “family” and the 2023 Solheim Cup is “a dream”

The player from Marbella says that the Costa del Sol is the perfect place to live and to visit, "and that once you visit, you'll stay forever"

Turismo Costa del Sol has released a new video in support of the 2023 Solheim Cup in which Marbella golfer Noemí Jiménez says that Finca Cortesín is like “family” to her and the 2023 Solheim Cup is “a dream”. In the video, Noemí Jiménez recalls both her beginnings in golf, her career and her dreams while touring one of the holes on the course that will host this great competition.

“From the moment I found out that the Solheim Cup was being played at Finca, I've been seeing it in a different light. Every time I'm on the 18th hole, I can just see all the spectators around me”, said Noemí Jiménez, who confessed that “sometimes I joke with my dad. Every time we come here and I'm on the 18th hole, I tell him to picture this to win for Europe. It's going to be incredible".

The Ladies European Tour player started playing when she was just 6 years old. With her mother a black belt in karate and her father a professional golf player, it was almost inevitable that she would take up golf. “I remember it was my father who got me into golf. I am who I am because of golf. I've really had that memory throughout my life”, said Jiménez.

Another important aspect that Noemí highlights in the video is her relationship with Finca Cortesín, for which she is an ambassador and which has been chosen as the course to host this international team competition, which will bring together on Spanish soil, for the first time in the tournament's history, the European and American teams from September 18 to 24, 2023.

“I didn't know the Solheim would be played at the Finca. So when the news broke, I was really surprised and excited. I know this is a great golf course and a great venue for an event as fantastic as the Solheim Cup. I have been an ambassador for Finca Cortesín for 6 years and it will be like a dream come true, really, to be on the European team playing for Europe, and especially with Finca, which was my first sponsor when I turned professional”, said Jiménez.

For the player from Malaga, another great dream would be to play for the Solheim Cup with Azahara Muñoz and Laura Gómez. “Having Azahara, Laura and me playing for the Solheim together would be incredible, especially since we know each other very well and having them on the team would be amazing. And hopefully that will happen in 2023”.

Noemí Jiménez also said that the Costa del Sol is different from any other place she has been to before. “I've travelled a lot to different places and there is nothing like the Costa del Sol. When people come to the Costa del Sol for the Solheim Cup, they will enjoy many things, such as the food, the people, the atmosphere, the climate, the mountains and the sea, and the beautiful landscapes all around. I think it's the perfect place to live and the perfect place to visit. And once you visit, you'll stay forever. I'm pretty sure of that”, concluded the player from Marbella.
