Portugal’s Troia golf course has implemented the perfect software at the optimum time as Golf Manager transforms its online booking and administration processes.

The European Top 10 venue is continuing to stay ahead of the game by making sure it has the latest technology to thrive and attract golfers to the esteemed course, while also encouraging repeat visits.

The Golf Manager software has allowed the course to revolutionise the visibility and control that it has over its golf facilities and operate more efficiently, including the streamlining of the online booking process which has now become a crucial part of the business cycle after the coronavirus pandemic.

The new system has also simplified and modernised other aspects of the club’s operation, including the tee sheet, CRM (customer relationship management system) and membership administration.

Not only has the software made a big impact internally, with an intuitive interface and a wide range of reports and tools now available to staff at the click of a button, but the customer journey is now less complicated and quicker, making it easier than ever for golfers to enjoy one of Europe’s best courses.

The spectacular 18-hole championship course, located just an hour from Lisbon on the beautiful sand-skirted Tróia Peninsula on the Atlantic coast, boasts panoramic views of the ocean and Arrábida mountain range and is renowned for its challenging links holes and natural beauty.

Designed by legendary American golf course architect Robert Trent Jones Senior, Troia’s par-72 course stretches 6,317m along the beach and is a stern, enjoyable test for golfers of all abilities, requiring them to play a multitude of shots through a combination of pine trees and indigenous coastal plants – with small, narrow greens and bold bunkering adding drama to the round.

And the new cloud-based software, which can be accessed by players and members of staff from anywhere in the world, will allow tee times to be booked in less than 20 seconds, sending automated confirmation emails and filling the tee sheet automatically, removing the hassle for both club management and customer.

Troia’s golf club is now reopen after a period of closure due to the coronavirus pandemic, subject to strict safety guidelines laid out by the Portuguese authorities to control and prevent the spread of COVID-19 and other possible infections. A thorough cleaning and sanitising regime has been introduced, while social distancing and personal protective equipment is also expected.
