INTERVIEW: GILBERTO JORDAN TALKS ABOUT BELAS CLUBE DE CAMPO & IMG PRESTIGE

We had the opportunity to speak to the Chairman of Belas Clube de Campo, Gilberto Jordan. The successful businessman talks about the project's vision and how the Andre Jordan Group plan to keep developing the product.

How would you describe Belas Clube de Campo to someone who hasn’t had the chance to visit the development yet?

Lisbon Green Valley - Belas Clube de Campo is the largest residential resort in an European capital and a benchmark of success in the Portuguese real estate market.

How can the Andre Jordan Group help the growth of Belas Clube de Campo, after developing successful projects such as Vilamoura in the Algarve?

The Lisbon Green Valley - Belas Clube de Campo is a project of the Andre Jordan Group where we have incorporated all the knowledge acquired in Quinta do Lago and Vilamoura XXI, to create a unique property in Lisbon. We have over 70 years of experience in the residential sector and have incorporated all this knowledge here, making it a national and international reference, considered by many as the destination of choice in the Portuguese capital.

The Golf Club is an important part of the development. What is your view on Belas becoming part of the IMG Prestige global network?

Golf is very much part of our DNA. We are not only the original developers of the 36 holes at Quinta do Lago but also of the 4 original courses in Vilamoura, plus the construction of the Arnold Palmer designed Vitoria course, now home of the Portugal Masters.

When we chose the American Golf Course Architect, Rocky Roquemore to design our course at Belas Clube de Campo, he was given the remit to build a Championship course that would gain an international reputation for being one of the top courses in Portugal. We are really proud of what he achieved.

The reputation of the course continues to grow, not only as a result of hosting the European Challenge Tour Grand Final in 1998 and the European Senior Tour Portugal Open in 2011, but through the growth of our club membership, which is now one of the largest in Portugal.
