Places still available for the European Tour Destinations Senior Classic Pro-Am

02 July 2019

Amateur golfers have the rare opportunity to compete alongside former Ryder Cup stars and golfing legends when the European Tour Destinations Senior Classic gets underway at PGA Catalunya Resort, near Girona, Spain, from July 12-14, 2019.

Winning captain of The 2014 Ryder Cup Paul McGinley, former World Number One Ian Woosnam and six-time European Tour winner Thomas Levet, are all set to tee it up in the third edition of the tournament, which heads to Spain for the first time after visits to Finland’s Linna Golf Club in 2017 and Lighthouse Golf and Spa Resort, Bulgaria, in 2018.

The Pro-Am and Alliance formats of the Staysure event offer two distinctive opportunities for amateurs to play alongside the legends of the game, with packages available to take part in the Pro-Am event leading up to the tournament and in the first two rounds of the championship itself.

No stranger to international events, having hosted three times the Open de España and welcoming the European Tour Qualifying School Final Stage for nine consecutive years until 2016, PGA Catlaunya Resort receives the European Tour Destinations Senior Classic as part of the Stadium Course’s 20th-year celebrations.

Opportunities to play in the Pro-Am and Alliance rounds are still available, with packages starting from 520€.

About PGA Catalunya Resort
Opened in 1999, PGA Catalunya Resort quickly established an international reputation for outstanding quality. The Stadium Course is ranked the number one golf course in Spain by the www.top100golfcourses.com website. PGA Catalunya Resort is ranked the number one resort in Spain by Golf World magazine, which also recognises the venue in its World Top 100 Courses.
The 36-hole resort also offers two accommodation options – Hotel Camiral, a member of The Leading Hotels of The World and Girona’s only 5* hotel, and LAVIDA Hotel, aimed at the active traveller. In addition, the European Tour Destination comprises a discreet, low-density real estate development, with first class leisure facilities and a select number of villa plots, stylish modern semi-detached villas and luxury apartments. Conveniently situated close to Girona-Costa Brava Airport (five-minute drive) and Barcelona International Airport (one-hour drive), the venue also benefits from the recently completed high-speed train line that links Girona (approximately 15 kilometres from PGA Catalunya Resort) to the rest of Spain and Europe, which provides even faster connections to major cities, including Barcelona, which can now be reached in only 37 minutes.
