Paco Pérez intensifies his link with Peralada Resort

Peralada, 3rd of December 2020. After the reopening of Golf Peralada on the 23rd of November, now is the turn for Hotel Peralada. It will reopen its doors next Wednesday, December 23rd, following the strictest Covid-19 protocols and with important new features: the incorporation of one of the most renowned chefs in the country, Paco Pérez, who will design its culinary offer this Christmas, and then take over the entire gastronomic management in March.

With five Michelin stars that have projected him even beyond our borders, and after its resounding success last summer in the gardens of the Castell de Peralada with the Shiro, an Asian wager to be repeated next July and August, Paco Perez intensifies his link with Peralada Resort. At a time of great creativity and professional maturity, he wants more than ever to strengthen his ties with the Empordà, in whose gastronomic potential he believes in so much.

The proposals for Christmas are inspired by several of the traditional Empordà dishes during this festive period. Paco Perez not only seeks to express the rich nuances of the gastronomy of the area, but to combine products from both the sea and the mountains, emphasising that the Empordà cannot be understood without its connection to the Mediterranean and the Pyrenees.

The New Year's Eve dinner promises to be splendid. On this very special night, Paco Pérez proposes an elegant, even glamorous, and somewhat more eclectic gastronomic journey, with blue lobster, wild sea bass and Wagyu fillet among other delights, with the magic and creative touch so characteristic of the Chef.

Hotel Peralada reopens not only with its Golf, considered one of the most beautiful courses in Catalonia, but also its Wine Spa, a unique offer in which wine takes on a new dimension.

Oenology is a substantial part of Peralada. With a winemaking tradition of more than six centuries, Peralada produces wines that are recognised by the most reputable international guides and are present in all five continents. In 2021, Peralada will inaugurate a new and spectacular new winery, designed by RCR, the Catalan architects who won the Pritzker Prize in 2017.  It can be visited from next summer onwards. Until then it is possible to visit the old one, also of interest, and participate in different types of tastings, among which stand out those held at Finca Malaveïna, a beautiful vineyard just 2 km. from the village. Enotourism is back in business again.

A visit to Peralada is not complete without going to the Castle Museum, which reopens on the 5th of December, and admiring its impressive library with over 80,000 volumes, one of the most important glass collections in the world or the Gothic church of Carme.

The Hotel Peralada, recently renovated by the renowned decorator Sandra Tarruella, is a wonderful place to relax, enjoy the gastronomy and wines of the Empordà, practise sport (in addition to the golf course, the hotel has outdoor and indoor swimming pools and a paddle court) and let yourself be pampered in its Spa. It also allows you to visit a unique cultural complex in one of the best-preserved medieval villages in our country.
