Boom in Amateur Golf Tournaments in SE Asia

23 July 2024

Last month over 550 amateur golfers from 20 countries enjoyed two weeks competing and having fun at the Centara World Masters in Hau Hin and at the Avani Pattaya 2 Ball.

The impact on the two cities was substantial with income generated through masses of room nights for local hotels plus F& B departments were very busy organising nightly parties and gala dinners.

Mark Seigel MD at Golfasian the organizer said, “When we started over 10 years ago running these events, hoteliers and courses were unaware of the potential. Now we are being approached by tourist boards asking us to consider creating a new event in their region.

In Hua Hin where we run Asia’s largest Amateur tournament, The Centara World Masters, the whole city benefits from hotels to restaurants, transport operators to local spas, even the Tuk Tuk drivers were smiling!”

Golfasian has new enlarged their future calendar of events and golf vacationers from across the world are already signing up for future events planned in Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines.

Golfasian are now confident that they can top the 2,000 competitors who played in the last twelve months during their new 2024-2025 season.
