SMARTSCORE Global, Korea’s largest golf IT platform, has officially entered the Indonesian golf market through the hosting of the Indonesia Digital Cup golf tournament.

As well as underlining SMARTSCORE’s standing as one of the most progressive and fastest-growing technology companies in golf, the event, held for the first time in Indonesia, marked an advancement in the digital solutions sector for the Asian golf industry.

“We are confident in the bright future of the Indonesian golf industry, which is open to new innovations and cross-sector collaborations,” said Yeom In-wook, Chief Executive Officer at SMARTSCORE Global, an Executive Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.

“Our main goal is to significantly contribute to the rapid development of Indonesia’s golf industry, connect players and the local industry to the global market, and provide more opportunities for all stakeholders involved,” added Yeom.

Staged last week at Modern Golf & Country Club, the SMARTSCORE Digital Cup featured stakeholders from Indonesian golf courses, golf associations, and customers and showcased an innovative digital field management and tournament system.

The 140-strong field was introduced to advanced functionalities such as digital scoring systems, drone aerial views, distance measurements, green pin position identification, food ordering, and a personal app for real-time score tracking.

Additionally, participants were able to print their scorecards and images after the tournament and engage with industry peers through various activities.

Furthermore, through SMARTSCORE solutions, Modern Golf & Country Club benefited from live course monitoring, round management, food and beverage sales, geofencing technology, a club management app, and real-time round data updates, bringing advanced digital technologies to the venue.

SMARTSCORE Global, a leading provider of golf-tech solutions from South Korea, operates in seven countries – Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Indonesia – with its technology implemented at more than 400 golf courses.
