Puntacana Resort & Club celebrated the Christmas Season and the arrival of the year 2020, by warmly welcoming their homeowners, guests and visitors with an agenda of events that included cocktails, parties, tennis tournaments, golf tournaments and recreational activities at the resort, as part of the activities program in commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of Grupo Puntacana.
The celebrations began with the traditional Christmas Cocktail for the homeowners of the Puntacana Resort & Club, featuring for the first time the presentation of the Dominican National Youth Symphony Orchestra under the direction of maestro Alberto Rincón. The 70 instrumentalists performed Christmas Classics such as "Peace Night" and "Adestes Fideles".
In addition, The Westin Puntacana Resort & Club hotel opened its traditional real-life cookie house, where visitors enjoyed a toast with eggnog, hot chocolate, ginger tea and cookies.
On its third consecutive year, the “Chefs' Night” presented the best gastronomy and culinary talent of the resort on a night full of flavors by the Executive Chef of La Cana Golf & Beach Club, Santiago Salamanca; the Executive Chef of Tortuga Bay Puntacana Resort & Club, Jerome Bondaz; and the Executive Chef of The Westin Puntacana Resort & Club, Carlos Robles.
The Christmas agenda also included sports activities, such as the “Christmas Cup” golf tournament at La Cana Golf Course and the 18th version of the “Oscar de la Renta Social Tennis Tournament” at the Oscar de la Renta Tennis Center, where trophies were handed by Anna Wintour, editor of Vogue Magazine, and Annette de la Renta, wife of the late Dominican designer.
The Oscar de la Renta Boutique, located at the Tortuga Bay Puntacana Resort & Club hotel, presented their “Pre-Spring 2020” collection during an afternoon accompanied by cocktails and snacks.
To farewell 2019, the owners of the resort gathered at La Cana Golf & Beach Club, during an exclusive party with live music, entertainment and a fireworks show. Also, the Playa Blanca Puntacana Resort & Club Restaurant received the electrifying music of DJ Korduroy in their New Year’s Eve After Party.
