Three Branson-Area Courses Earn Top Spots in Golfweek’s ‘Best Courses You Can Play by State” List

Buffalo Ridge Springs Named No. 1 in Missouri; Also Garners Top 100 Status Nationally

Buffalo Ridge Springs (No. 1), Branson Hills (No. 2), and LedgeStone (No. 6) were named to Golfweek Magazine’s annual “best-in-state” list, and Buffalo Ridge Springs, an amenity of Big Cedar Lodge, also earned to the publication’s “Top Courses You Can Play in America” list, ranking No. 89.

Golfweek’s team of course raters, which currently counts more than 850 evaluators, surveys more than 3,600 courses annually – grading each nominated course on 10 proprietary standards of evaluation.

“The Branson area has welcomed several new courses in the past few years, joining our wonderful collection of existing courses,” says Lynn Berry, Branson Convention & Visitors Bureau Director of Communications. “We hope this distinct honor from Golfweek will inspire people to visit our growing golf destination and experience our top-rated courses.”

Buffalo Ridge Springs was designed by Tom Fazio in tandem with Johnny Morris, Bass Pro Shops Founder. The course winds throughout the beautiful Missouri Ozarks landscape, with the brilliant golf holes complemented by the area’s extreme natural beauty. It is one of four Big Cedar Lodge courses currently open, with a fifth – Payne’s Valley, a Tiger Woods’ golf course architecture firm design – currently under construction.

Branson Hills was designed by Chuck Smith with input by erstwhile PGA TOUR player Bobby Clampett. It has hosted state amateur championships and has a clubhouse motif honoring the state’s greatest players, including Payne Stewart and Tom Watson. The course is known for its combination of diverse and creative golf holes that infuse each round with exciting shots and inspiring Ozarks scenery.

LedgeStone is a joyful golf experience thanks to the rolling hills and dales that have been masterfully integrated into the 18-hole layout. With hole names including “Temptation,” “The Mermaid,” and “Deception,” the course never disappoints with hole variety, high-quality course conditions, and country club style clubhouse.

As a bonus, all three of these honored courses can be played as part of the “Branson Invitational,” a two-person, three-round competition set for next month. For more information, visit www.bransoninvitational.com
