Zest.golf has reached a considerable milestone as we can now show live tee times on the Penha Longa Golf Resort in Portugal, part of the global Marriott Portfolio. In order to gain live access to their tee sheet and servers, our system underwent rigorous testing and had to adhere to their very strict access policies.
To achieve this, we allocated significant development resources to this project. We had external parties perform a code audit, had vulnerability testing, and penetration testing done and much more. All this did indeed expose some loose code strings and some possible future vulnerabilities in our platform which were hence addressed to make us by far one of the most safe and secure golf booking platforms in the world.
Jo Maes, Commercial Director adds: “As a platform moves from MVP to a scalable and transacting system, there are always things that come to light and need addressing. As we needed to make sure we were safe and secure to access the Penha Longa servers, a lot of dev time went into work ‘under the hood’ addressing some of these potential issues, work which is not immediately visible to our users. The result is that all this will inevitably provide stability and security for both our golf courses, channels and tee sheet partners.”
This milestone will significantly boost the Cascais Golf Passport which was hampered by the limited tee time allocation on Penha Longa, one of the more popular golf courses in the region. Now that tee times are live and displayed in real time, the options for golfers and also channel partners to book golf passports in the region has increased significantly.
In addition to the Cascais Golf Passport, Zest.Golf also powers the Barcelona Golf Destination and the La Rioja Region’s passports. More regions are looking to sign up and create a totally customisable golf passport experience with automated payment and reconciliation of funds independent of which tee sheet provider the course uses.
Zest.Golf is a Business Partner of IAGTO who believe a frictionless tee time booking method for their members, both on the course as the channel side, is becoming invaluable for the golf travel industry to remain top of mind for golfers looking to book golf holidays.
