Portugal’s leading golf resort will play host to the 32nd edition of the Grande Trofeu Vilamoura from December 4 – 7

Dom Pedro Hotels & Golf Collection, a brand synonymous with excellence in national & international hospitality, is proud to announce that it will be hosting the 32nd edition of the Grande Trofeu Vilamoura from 4th to 7th December 2019.

This year’s tournament will involve three rounds of golf being played across three of Vilamoura’s most exciting and intriguing courses; the Frank Pennick-designed Dom Pedro Old Course, the Dom Pedro Pinhal Course, renowned for its stunning panoramic views, and the prestigious Dom Pedro Victoria Course – designed by ‘The King’ Arnold Palmer and home to the Portugal Masters since its inauguration to the European Tour in 2007. All three of these courses will provide golfers with an experience that rivals and challenges that of the professional game.

Amateur golfers, who have an active handicap at their home golf club will be eligible to enter this year’s competition. The maximum handicap to enter for male golfers is 24, whilst female golfers can play up to 28. One of the most esteemed amateur tournaments in Portugal, the Grande Trofeu Vilamoura has been taking place since 1987 and provides a great opportunity for keen amateur golfers to take part in a friendly but also challenging competition.

This region of Portugal is home to many amateur golf tournaments, but none rank as highly as the Grande Trofeu Vilamoura. This year’s package includes a 3-day golf competition, 2 cocktail parties, an entertaining dinner with a show at the Solverde Casino Vilamoura and a gala dinner with prize giving on the Saturday evening at the Dom Pedro Vilamoura Forum.

Golfers will be grouped into categories, with only 120 places in each category available to golfers on a first come first served basis. The competition will be played across medal format (54 holes) within each category with prizes awarded on the final net and gross scores for the men’s and ladies’ competition within each category.
