Mallorca golf club also excels in Leading Courses’ user-voted Golfers' Choice Awards
Club de Golf Alcanada is celebrating success once again at the annual 59club Europe Service Excellence Awards, where the Mallorca club earned a prestigious Silver Flag.
Reserved only for venues where 59club’s ‘mystery shopper’ auditors experienced the highest standard of customer service and operations, the flag is Alcanada’s sixth in as many years.
Club director Kristoff Both was a finalist in the ‘Golf Manager of the Year’ category, while the venue was also shortlisted for Europe South’s ‘Leading Individual Golf Course Presentation’ and ‘Leading Individual Golf Visit Experience’ awards.
The honour follows Alcanada’s inclusion in the highly exclusive ‘Eminent Collection’, a select group into which the venue – along with Both – was inducted in November 2024. Founded in 2022, the Eminent Collection celebrates golf clubs, resorts and individuals that push the boundaries of excellence over a minimum of five years.
Both said: “As ever, it is a huge honour to earn a Flag from 59club Europe for what is now a sixth consecutive year.
“We view this award as a testament to the high standards that the whole team here strives to achieve every day and look forward to the challenge of extending the streak to seven years in 2026.”
Meanwhile, Alcanada also shone at the 2025 Leading Courses Golfers' Choice Awards, as decided by the popular website’s community of users.
The Robert Trent Jones Jnr-designed course was voted in Spain’s top ten in no fewer than five categories, including ‘best 18-hole golf clubs’, ‘best maintenance’, ‘best facilities’, ‘most hospitable golf club’ and ‘best surroundings’, the latter of which saw Alcanada finish in second place.
Lists are compiled based on more than 385,000 reviews from the website’s approximately 500,000 monthly visitors, making the Leading Courses rankings arguably the most reliable in the industry.
Both added: “We are always proud to be included in any prestigious rankings, particularly when they are decided by the most important people – regular players who come to us for a great day of golf.”
Club de Golf Alcanada, which celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2023, is perhaps best known by UK golfers as the host venue for the Rolex Grand Final, the climactic event on the HotelPlanner Tour, which will return to the Mallorca venue this November.
