Rosewood CordeValle, the idyllic resort in Northern California, today unveils its recently refreshed golf course following a comprehensive resurfacing project that began in April 2019. Designed by renowned golf architecture firm Robert Trent Jones II LLC, the resort’s course has received critical acclaim since its opening in 1999 and has consistently been included in the top 100 golf courses across the United States ever since.
“Rosewood CordeValle is thrilled to unveil our newly resurfaced course, which provides our members and guests with a world-class golf experience on fully-refreshed, premium greens with the personalized service Rosewood CordeValle is known for,” said Luca Rutigliano, managing director of Rosewood CordeValle. “We pride ourselves on offering a singular golf experience that includes special services, amenities and equipment, and will only be elevated with the unveiling of our refreshed greens.”
As part of the three-year project, the resort has restored the course’s landscape to its original glory from twenty years ago. The upgraded course elevates the overall quality of play on the acclaimed greens, boasting a fully re-leveled driving range and tee complexes, a higher-quality turf, completely resurfaced complexes across all 18 greens and sculpted contours that celebrate the natural splendor of the course’s surroundings. These comprehensive upgrades to the course’s greens take the golfing experience to new heights with smoother, championship-pace greens.
“Rosewood CordeValle is one of the best golf courses our firm has designed around the globe, showcasing all of the wonderful characteristics of the California landscape,” says Bruce Charlton, President and Chief Design Officer at Robert Trent Jones II LLC, who oversaw the resurfacing project. “We are thrilled to unveil the updated course, which includes careful landscaping and the installation of premium-quality turf that has restored the course to its original glory from its inauguration in 1999.”
Nestled in the countryside of San Martin, California, just 30 minutes south of San Jose, Rosewood CordeValle’s 260-acre, 18-hole championship golf course was designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., the legendary golf course architect. Offering unobstructed views of the Santa Cruz Mountains with dramatic contours and elevation changes, the golf course makes innovative use of Northern California’s hillsides, canyons and broad meadows. Since opening, Rosewood CordeValle has garnered recognition for its stunning golf offerings from some of America’s most prestigious golfing magazines including Golf Digest, Golf Magazine and GolfWeek. The resort has also played host to some of golf’s most noteworthy events, including the 2016 U.S. Women’s Open; the 2015 and 2011 PGA Cup; the 2013, 2012, 2011 and 2010 PGA Tour; and the 2013 USGA Senior Women’s Amateur Championship.
Rosewood CordeValle offers four exclusive membership options at its illustrious Golf Club, giving golf-lovers the opportunity to enjoy the resort’s newly refreshed course alongside exclusive events and amenities. Members have access to Rosewood CordeValle’s dedicated Golf Butler team, which offers an enhanced golf experience through personalized touches like coordinating small bites on the green, shining golfers’ shoes and scheduling treatments at Sense®, A Rosewood Spa at Rosewood CordeValle, including comprehensive golf fitness assessments. Rosewood CordeValle also recently revamped their culinary program under the direction of newly appointed Executive Chef Alexander La Motte, who will add dishes to the golf club’s eatery, Lion’s Peak Grill, like his signature burger and mouthwatering ahi tuna wrap.
