Gleneagles, the world-famous hotel and sporting estate, 2014 Ryder Cup venue and this year's Solheim Cup host, has introduced a special 'Further Afield' membership, offering golfers living in England and overseas, full access to 54 holes of championship golf.
This special membership affords playing rights on Gleneagles' heathland classics, The King's and The Queen's golf courses, and the Jack Nicklaus-designed PGA Centenary course.
Members can also experience The PGA National Golf Academy for Scotland, The Academy Course, a testing par 3 design, and enjoy the warm and friendly atmosphere of The Clubhouse, whether that's enjoying a craft beer in 'Auchterarder 70', or one of the speciality tandoor dishes from The Dormy Restaurant.
With 850 acres of magnificent Perthshire estate to explore, decadent and casual dining options and a whole range of country pursuits to enjoy, Further Afield Golf Membership at Gleneagles is the perfect way for travelling golfers to experience everything the 'Glorious Playground' has to offer.
It also affords a host of additional benefits, including accommodation, leisure and dining discounts and exclusive member-only invitations.
Aside from enjoying Gleneagles' world-renowned five-star service, Further Afield Golf Members can take full advantage of the recently completed renovations to The King's and The Queen's courses – both celebrating their centenaries this year – that take inspiration from archived photographs and James Braid's original 'inland links' designs.
Fairways have been widened, bunkers sympathetically restored, and Scottish heather has been re-introduced to better frame all playing surfaces. The King's Course, that hosted the first informal Ryder Cup match between Great Britain and the USA in 1921 – the GB team included James Braid – and The Queen's Course, now accurately reflect an experience golfers visiting the Perthshire estate in the 1920s would expect.
First year Further Afield Golf Membership is priced is £1,485, with a £500 joining fee.
