The fourth annual Messinia Pro-Am golf tournament promises sunshine, stars and five-star luxury when it's held at Costa Navarino's championship golf courses, from February 19-22, 2020.
There's no better way to start the golf season than with a place in the Messinia Pro-Am, a four-day PGAs of Europe-sanctioned event, in association with the PGA of Greece and the Hellenic Golf Federation, which takes place on the Dunes and Bay courses at the prime sustainable golf destination in Greece's Peloponnese.
Not only do golfers enjoy world-class facilities and a breathtaking seaside landscape, but also, in the professionals' case, they can play for a €50,000 prize pot. And amateurs from across the globe will be heading to Costa Navarino to join professionals and celebrities on the tee and in the sun, with five-night competitor packages starting from €1,567 per person.
The 2019 event attracted the likes of Hollywood star Bill Murray and sporting ‘royalty' in the shape of England's Rugby World Cup-winner Mike Tindall.
Murray - famed for his starring roles in Hollywood blockbusters Groundhog Day and Ghostbusters - was particularly impressed by his visit. He said: "This is the best place I've ever been. The golf courses are great; I've never been treated nicer anywhere. This is a different level; it is not like anything I've ever seen."
Competitor packages, based on two sharing a room, include five or seven nights' accommodation at the Westin Resort Costa Navarino; participation in social events and dinners - welcome reception, charity social event, and prizegiving ceremony; tournament entry fee, covering three tournament rounds and two practice rounds, with shared buggy; transfers to and from the Dunes Course; on-course refreshments and light lunch for three tournament rounds; and use of the Westin Resort's fitness facilities.
Participants will be able to enjoy ideal weather conditions in the unspoilt Mediterranean landscape and play golf surrounded by centuries-old olive groves and rolling hills overlooking the Ionian Sea. The recent opening of the earth-sheltered clubhouse at the Bay Course, affording stunning vistas across the historic Bay of Navarino, further enhances Costa Navarino's position among the most breathtaking golf destinations in Europe.
