Come to stay - Martin Kaymer and the Öschberghof - planning a commun future

14 September 2020

The golf pro has been thrilled by the excellent facilities ever since his first visit to the Öschberghof

Start of a unique collaboration with exclusive projects on an off the golf course

"I immediately came to love everything here,” says the major champion, Kaymer

It began with an inspiring stay and quickly led to exciting ideas for joint projects – now everything is coming to fruition within an attractive cooperation. Martin Kaymer found his new source of strength whilst on holiday – the Öschberghof, the exclusive golf residence between the Black Forest, Lake Constance and Switzerland. The remarkable collaboration – there are also already specific plans for the coming year – will begin in the, for him, special location immediately in winter.

“When visiting the Öschberghof with my family, I got to know the place and immediately felt very much at home,” says Martin Kaymer. “The facilities are superb, from the golf courses and the academy to the restaurants and the impressive hotel. What really excited me were the welcoming and very friendly people at the location. I immediately came to love everything here. It’s very nice that I’m now able to come here more often,” continued the former world number one.

“I’m delighted to welcome Martin Kaymer to the Öschberghof family and it is a big honour for us to unite the best German golfer with Germany’s best golf resort,” said Alexander Aisenbrey, managing director of the Öschberghof. “We will further strengthen the Öschberghof’s national and international attraction in the golf world as a result of the partnership. Our guests can look forward to unique highlights accompanied by the very likeable top sportsman.”

A first highlight will be provided immediately in winter by a special Martin Kaymer Programme inviting visitors to take a look at the two-time major winner’s daily practising routine during the colder months – a unique insight and, in combination with the indoor golf programme, a fascinating opportunity to play golf all the year round at the Öschberghof.

For the coming year, the new partnership already now promises two high-class events. Martin Kaymer and the Öschberghof are planning a joint charity tournament, whose proceeds will go to regional organisations and the Martin Kaymer Helianthus Stiftung, for early summer.

Later in summer, young golfers will compete in the final of a junior tournament series newly initiated by Martin Kaymer at the Öschberghof. The event for up-and-coming players fits perfectly into Öschberghof’s efforts within the junior sector. From 2021, the Öschberghof, one of the Baden Würrtemberg’s Golfverband’s – the regional association – six performance and emerging talent centres, will give golfers under the age of 21 the opportunity to become members free of charge.

Both members and guests will also be given the chance to acquire exclusive merchandise designed in collaboration with Martin Kaymer. It will be available as a limited edition at the location. There are also additional benefits for holders of the Öschberghofs Bonus Card.

Other fascinating events are currently being planned. They include a highly diverse cooperation in the classic, culinary and golf sectors. “We have many common ideas and plans. I can hardly wait to implement them,” says Martin Kaymer, a new delighted Öschberghof regular.

The 35-year old from the Rhineland area of Germany is considered, alongside Bernhard Langer, to be the outstanding German golfer in the past decades. Martin Kaymer has won two major titles (PGA Championship 2010, US Open 2014) and was the world number one. He has triumphed three times with Team Europe in the prestigious Ryder Cup and even holed the deciding putt in 2012. He has amassed 22 tournament wins in his 15 years as a golf pro.

The Öschberghof
The Öschberghof 5-star Superior Resort lies in south-west Germany’s hilly Baar region in Donaueschingen. It is not far from the Black Forest, Lake Constance and Switzerland. The “Land-und Golfclub” with an attached hotel was opened in 1976 and has since been regularly modernised and extended. Only recently the resort was extensively redeveloped and then reopened in 2019 with 126 rooms and suites. The scenic 45-hole golf complex with two 18-hole courses and a 9-hole course can be reached on foot from the hotel. The exclusive spa area is spread out over more than 5,000 square metres. The culinary services include four first-class restaurants.
